Erika Perloff is a landscape painter based in Santa Cruz. As a child she frequently visited Golden Gate Park where she went to summer camp and fell in love with trees. She works en plein air to observe the way light moves through a scene. Her paintings are created by layering many colors of pastel over a sanded surface.
