Volunteers and Interns
Join the Botanical Garden community and learn while you help make our programs and Children's Garden great! Volunteer opportunities and paid internships provide hands-on experience with children and gardens.
Children's Walk Guides
Every school year, our Children's Walk Guides introduce young children to the wonders of the natural world, often for the first time. Experience the Botanical Garden through a child's eyes and connect them with the environment through an exploration of the plants and animals that flourish here. Our Children's Walk Guides serve nearly 6,000 schoolchildren grades K-5 every year. Requirements: You must like children and complete one semester of 12-week walk training on consecutive Tuesdays. More information here.
Children's Garden Aides
If you enjoy children and gardening, this is the opportunity for you. Volunteers help school children grades K-3 get acquainted with the natural environment in the Children's Garden. Requirements: able to kneel, shovel, rake, and lift 30 pounds. Days and times are flexible. Sign up here.
