San Francisco Botanical Garden Society is the nonprofit support organization for the San Francisco Botanical Garden. The Society oversees all services to operate and maintain the Garden, however horticulture positions are managed by the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department. Recruitment for those positions is administered by the San Francisco Department of Human Resources.

The Garden offers several paid internships.

High school opportunities:
Saturday Bean Sprouts (available year round)
Garden Explorers (summer)
Acorn to Oak Junior (summer)

Adult opportunities:
Children's Garden Internship (spring and/or fall)
