Join us for daily tours through the Botanical Garden led by trained docents or explore on your own with special features designed to enhance your next visit.

Free Tours

  • Daily: 1:30pm at Main Gate
  • Spring & Summer through September: Friday, Saturday & Sunday: 2pm at Friend/North Gate
  • Bird Walk: first Sunday of every month: 8am at Main Gate

Free Cloud Forest Docent Tours

Every Saturday, October 4–December 27 at 2pm from the North Gate.

Walk in the Clouds: Inside the Mesoamerican Cloud Forest

October 18, November 15 & December 13
Discover the secrets of the cloud forests in an informative tour with SFBG curator Dr. Don Mahoney. Marvel at the towering tree dahlias and tree fuchsias, learn how these rare plants came to San Francisco and hear what is currently happening to these magical places in the wild.
1–2:30pm; $10 Members/$15 General

Interpretation Stations

Docent-staffed Interpretation Stations offer visitors the opportunity to learn more about the Mesoamerican Cloud Forest at the Botanical Garden. Open Sundays from 1:30–3:30pm. Ask Visitor Services at either kiosk for Interpretation Station locations.
