Youth Education NewsLittle Hands, Big Hands![]() Children's Garden Intern Rick Miguel. The Children's Garden grows and thrives thanks to the good work of thousands of small hands planting, weeding, and watering every year – but it wouldn't be the same without the hundreds of bigger hands that help out in the course of the year! In order for children to have the best possible experiences in the Garden, older interns and volunteers are essential for doing the heavier work, the more complex projects and the planning that's required to keep the Garden in good working order. This summer a total of nine interns helped out with programs and projects in the Children's Garden, and intern Rick Miguel is staying on as our school year intern. Various teen and adult volunteer groups add to the workforce as well. If you'd like to help, come join us on Thursday afternoons from 1:00pm – 4:30pm, when we welcome community volunteers on a drop-in basis. Contact Carol in the volunteer office at CLaughlin@sfbg.org for more information. |
