From the CuratorJuly 14th Plant Sale Features Salvias and ShrubsThis month's plant sale at the nursery on July 14th features salvias and other shrubs. But let's not forget fuchsias! We have a great selection of unusual selections to choose from. Even though it's summer, it can be a good time to establish shrubs, including salvias and fuchsias in your garden. Salvias are wonderful this time of year and provide great splashes of color. Many varieties have long bloom times and will continue blooming until fall. We will have at least 40 kinds of salvias, tall and short, for shade or sun and in a full range of colors. Almost all attract hummingbirds. We will also have several hundred kinds of other shrubs, including California native ceanothus and manzanita, proteas from South Africa and banksias from Australia. Please visit our sale and peruse the wonderful selection produced by our dedicated volunteers. I'm sure you will find some hidden treasures for your gardens. Don Mahoney
