End of the Season Plant Sale

Our November plant sale is our end-of-the-season sale. But it could almost be called the beginning-of-the-season sale as most mediterranean gardens will begin to grow in earnest now that the rainy season is upon us. For those of us in the Bay Area, now is the perfect time to plant California natives, South African proteas and other plants from mediterranean climates. Those of us in the frost-free fog belt can plant just about anything now, including cloud forest and subtropical plants as we usually can rely on the rains to water them for us. Spring, of course, is also a good time to plant subtropicals as they will need summer water no matter when you plant them.

At the November sale, we always begin a little clearing out of excess plants that have accumulated over the summer. They need good homes in a a warmer spot as our growing grounds can be quite chilly. These are plants we have over-propagated and so we put them out at bargain prices. The November sale is often a "sale" in every sense of the word. The bargain plants always include natives, shrubs, and perennials. So come get some good bargains at the November sale.
