For many years those of us who propagate plants for sale have wished that we could have a venue to sell plants on a daily basis. Soon it will happen. A new arbor is being built behind the current bookstore where tables of plants can be maintained for sale. Later this summer we hope to have the sales area open seven days a week.

We are hoping to have the first open days later this month with an official opening for the Summer Garden Fair on August 6th. We will have signs for all the plants, with pictures where possible, and volunteers will be available to answer questions during open hours. This is a big undertaking and will take the cooperation of a lot of people to keep the selection fresh and interesting. Everyone involved is very excited to have this new way for the general public to support our gardens by buying our locally produced plants.

Salvia & Shrub Plant Sale Preview

This month's plant sale at the nursery on July 9th features salvias and shrubs. With all the rain this year it is a good time to establish new plants in your garden. We will have at least 40 kinds of salvias, tall and short, for shade or sun and in a full range of colors. Almost all attract hummingbirds. We will also have several hundred kinds of shrubs, including native ceanothus and manzanitas, proteas from South Africa and banksias from Australia. Please visit our sale and peruse the wonderful selection produced by our dedicated volunteers. I'm sure you will find some hidden treasures for your gardens.
