Bean Sprouts Family Days Season Kickoff
Saturday April 5, 12–3pm in the Children's Garden
Celebrate native plants at our first weekly program of the season – learn to make a cattail bracelet, decorate a redwood windsock to take home, help plant natives in our garden, and enjoy family friendly demonstrations of traditional uses of native plants. Suitable for families with children 3 and up. Bring a picnic and enjoy the day!
Free with entry, follow signs from each gate.
Celebrate California's Native Plants and Peoples
Saturday, April 5 1–4pm
Enjoy the blazing colors of wildflowers in the Garden of CA Native Plants and see some fine examples of native crafts, baskets, and tule toys. Try your hand at grinding acorn flour and making tule twine and elderberry rattles. Take a mini tour with a Garden naturalist and stroll through purple irises, wild lilac, and a rainbow of wild flowers.

Children's StoryTime in the Library
First and third Sunday of the month, March–September, 10:30–11:30am
Enjoy a different themed story each month including Spring Forward with California Native Plants, Going Native with California Plants, California Giants and more – then take a guided walk connecting the story to living plants.
FREE (admission required for Garden walks following story readings; FREE to San Francisco residents with proof of residency). For families with kids ages 4-8.
