Admire and acquire an outstanding selection of seasonal plants seldom found in commercial nurseries or garden centers. All sales take place on Saturdays from 10am–1pm at the Nursery. Admission is free.

50th Annual Plant Sale

Members get first pick on thousands of unique plants at the largest annual plant sale in the Bay Area. Garden Lover ($125) level members and above are also invited to a special reception preceding the sale with live music and first access to rare and beautiful Silent Auction plants.

Saturday, May 6; 10am–2pm PUBLIC SALE
Come to the Bay Area's largest plant sale with over 20,000 plants representing 2,500 different varieties, and featuring a number of the WILD flowers grown at the Garden. The Annual Spring Plant Sale is an important fundraiser and is the largest of the Garden's plant sales. Admission to the sale is free.

Summer Solstice Sundown: Health & Wellness in the Garden

Tuesday, June 20; 6–9pm
$23 Members/$28 General

Summer is the perfect time to pause, reset, and reconnect with nature. Join us out in the Garden for an evening of yoga, walking meditation, and mythical tea rituals led by local experts and re-establish your connection with yourself and nature. Heavy rain cancels. All yoga levels welcome.

The Garden will once again be filled with music, creativity, and fun when 12 pianos are placed throughout the Garden for 12 days. Don't miss it!

WILD Flowers: Pencil Drawing with Nina Antze

Thursday, June 15; 10am–3pm
$75 Members/$90


Discover the WILD flowers of the Garden through botanical illustration with Nina Antze. Learn and practice colored-pencil techniques with a selection of California and mediterranean wildflowers, and some surprise beauties from the Garden's unique collection. Live blooms will be provided or bring your own favorites. Weather-permitting, class will lunch outside and experience nature first hand. All drawing levels welcome. A supply list will be provided. Bring a lunch.

Photography in the Garden: Workshop with Saxon Holt

Thursday May 18th; 7:30am–1pm
$75 Members/$85 General

While the Garden boasts many collections throughout its 55 acres, this photography workshop brings WILD flowers from one collection into focus. Led by noted botanical photographer Saxon Holt, this workshop starts out in the Garden and ends with a peer critique session indoors. Class is suitable for all levels.

Paper Flower Workshop with Tiffanie Turner: Matilija Poppies

Learn to make a paper flower so realistic it could be mistaken for one grown in the garden! Instructor Tiffanie Turner literally wrote the book on paper flowers and shares an arsenal of tips and tricks.

Chinese Brush Painting with Janny Huang and Joseph Yan

Discover the world of Chinese Brush Painting with this introductory two hour workshop. Learn the basic techniques and acquire an understanding and appreciation of this art form while choosing to paint either a rooster to celebrate the Year of the Rooster or morning glories twisting on a vine. Janny and Joseph's artwork will also be on display in the Library from May to August. Class is suitable for all levels. Supplies will be provided.
