My first agenda item was to visit Dr. Le Xuan Canh, Deputy Director of the Institute
of Ecology and Bio-Resources. Dr. Canh (center) is pleased
consider a collaboration with San Francisco Botanical Garden. He tells me that collaborations
are encouraged at IEBR, citing existing ones with the Smithsonian Institution, Kew Gardens, and the Russian
Academy of Sciences. On the far right is Ms. Nguyen Thanh Huong,
a botanist who arranges logistics for me throughout my visit.
Dr. Canh then introduced me to staff of the Ethnobotany Department...
