Dr. Leonid Averyanov, an orchidologist
at the Russian Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg, holding a species
of Coelogyne orchid. He has been working on Vietnamese orchids for
more than twenty years, and is a long-time collaborator with the Institute
of Ecology and Bioresources. He has seen many pristine forests cut
or burned, and is working frantically against time (as are all his
collaborators) to at least document what is still unknown before it
becomes extinct. |
